Those are the only 3 words when it comes to property. Hence, this website is designed according to this perspective (as you can see in the top menu of the website) as follows:-
As we all know, there are other 3-Rm HDB flats For Sale within and around Ang Mo Kio Ave 4 to choose from. However, I think Blk 178 is a very nice number. By punning the number 178 in Mandarin, it means “Prosperous Together” (一起发). The actual pronunciation of 178 in Mandarin is “Yī qī bā”. The pun is “Yī qǐ fā”. 🙂
For those of you who are here just for browsing, feel free to share this website or post links to people whom you know are looking to buy a 3-room or 4-room flat or for any of the following reasons:
- Resizing (as a retirement home)
- Low cost to maintain a 3-room flat.
- Higher government subsidy (e.g. Town Council conservancy fee & Utilities) given to 3-room flat household.
- A smaller size flat will take less effort and time to clean and upkeep.
- Lower renovation cost and furnishing as relative to a bigger flat with similar quality setup.
- Shorter distance to more around inside the unit. Especially advantage to senior residents.
- Small but not tiny, NOR a Mickey Mouse flat.
- Looking for a unit that has the following attributes
(for Singles, Young Couples, Small family or Retirees)
- High floor, but not the top floor because of roof problem
- Unblock view @ kitchen, (have a nice dinner there)
- Windy & Breeeeeezy (especially in December)
- Wide common corridor ~1.95m
- Big lift landing area
- Almost North-South facing
- Quiet neighbour
- In an established mature estate with every facilities
- Already upgraded precinct with sheltered walked way etc.

- Relocating because of kid’s education (near a good girls school and near a Public Library)

- Living near parents or married child @ Ang Mo Kio area
- Looking for a more carefree lifestyle living @ a heartland cost.

- Looking for a flat that has healthy fitness and greenery environment
- Exercise stations at the ground floor of block and nearby blocks.

- Near MRT Station
- Details @ Transport – MRT Stations
- Future: Thomson-East Coast Line (TEL) – Expected operation in 2020.
- Mayflower Station, ~400m (walking)
- Existing: x2 stations of North-South Line (NSL)
- Ang Mo Kio Station & Yio Chu Kang Station
- Having the choice of 2 MRT stations might not be a big advantage, but at least, you have a choice to choose, in respect to crowdedness and preferences.
